What this chiropractor, energy healer, and crunchy dog mama is doing this Halloween weekend.
Spooky season and haunted houses hit differently when you’re a chiropractor, energy healer (aka witch doctor), and crunchy dog mama. 👻🐾
Forget the ghosts. They don’t scare me. 😂
You know what does?
Unsolicited healing requests when I’m off the clock. People telling me they don’t believe in ghosts but then asking why their dog keeps staring into an empty corner. Synthetic fragrances. People insisting their emotions have absolutely nothing to do with their physical health. And houses that could really use a good energetic clearing.
But the scariest of all? Someone saying, “It’s just a dog.”
Excuse me?! She’s my child. 🤣🐾
All jokes aside, Halloween weekend is actually one of my favorite times to be intentional about my energy, my home, and the loved ones who are no longer physically here.
Between Halloween and Día de los Muertos, there’s a beautiful opportunity to explore the relationship between energetic boundaries, our environments, and the connections we continue to carry with those we’ve loved.
Here’s what I’ll be focusing on this spooky season.
1. Keeping My Energy Mine
One of the biggest things I teach in my work is energetic sovereignty.
Not everything you feel is necessarily yours to carry.
Have you ever walked into a room feeling perfectly fine, only to leave feeling completely drained? Or spent time with someone who was upset and noticed your own mood shifting?
There are ordinary psychological and physiological reasons we can be affected by the emotions and behavior of people around us. In my energetic practice, I also explore these experiences through the lens of personal energy, boundaries, and emotional resonance.
As someone who works with people on physical, emotional, subconscious, and energetic levels, I’m intentional about checking in with myself.
Because I don’t want to carry everyone else’s emotions, expectations, or problems around with me.
My Personal Energetic Hygiene Practice
Here’s what I’ll be doing this weekend, and honestly, what I practice regularly throughout the year.
Checking in with my own field.
Before I begin clearing anything, I take a moment to notice how I’m feeling physically, emotionally, and energetically.
Am I grounded? Am I present? Is there something I’m holding onto that needs my attention?
Awareness comes first.
Using muscle testing to check in with my field.
Muscle testing is one of my favorite tools for tuning into what my body is communicating. I use it to explore emotional and energetic patterns, identify what may need attention, and determine where to focus my clearing work.
For me, it’s about listening to the body’s wisdom, strengthening discernment, and trusting my own intuition.
Calling my energy back.
One of my favorite practices is intentionally calling my attention and energy back to myself.
How often do we spend our days thinking about everyone else’s needs, worrying about situations we can’t control, or mentally revisiting conversations that are already over?
Sometimes reclaiming your energy begins with recognizing where your attention has been going.
I use intention and visualization to reconnect with myself and release what I’m ready to stop carrying.
Clearing, restoring, and sealing my field.
Within my energetic healing framework, I work through clearing practices, visualization, and intention to release unwanted attachments and restore a sense of alignment.
For me, this is about returning to neutrality rather than operating from fear.
I don’t need to be afraid of everyone else’s energy.
I simply want to be conscious of what I’m engaging with and what I’m choosing to carry.
Grounding back into my body.
And sometimes the best thing I can do is get outside, move my body, spend time in nature, or take Luna for an adventure.
Not everything requires an elaborate ritual.
Sometimes it requires getting out of your head and back into your body.
2. Clearing My Home for Halloween and the Holiday Season
My home is my sanctuary.
It’s where I rest, recharge, spend time with Luna, and create the environment I want to live in.
And yes, as someone who works with energetic home restoration, I absolutely clear my own home.
I believe our environments deserve just as much intention as our personal well-being.
Think about everything that happens within a home.
Conversations. Celebrations. Stressful moments. Illness. Grief. New beginnings. People coming and going.
From a practical standpoint, our surroundings can influence our mood, stress levels, comfort, and sense of safety.
From my spiritual perspective, I also consider the energetic qualities of a space and how they relate to the people living there.
What I’ll Be Doing to Clear My Home
This Halloween weekend, I’ll be giving my home some extra attention.
My process follows the same general approach I use professionally:
Assess → Clear → Restore → Enhance
First, I assess the space through my energetic framework.
Then I work through my clearing process, followed by restoring and enhancing the environment with the intention of supporting peace, harmony, and well-being.
I want my home to feel like a place where I can fully relax and be myself.
And where Luna can continue living her very best, slightly spoiled, adventure-filled life.
Why I Created Sovereign Home Restoration
My work with energy has never been limited to the physical body.
Over the years, I’ve also worked intuitively with the environments people live and work in.
That eventually led me to create Sovereign Home Restoration, a dedicated service focused on the energetic assessment, clearing, restoration, and enhancement of homes, land, and properties.
This is a spiritual and energetic service that reflects my training and intuitive methods.
Whether someone is moving into a new home, preparing for holiday guests, navigating a major life transition, or simply wanting to bring more intention into their space, a home restoration may be something they feel called to explore.
And with the holidays approaching, it’s an especially meaningful time to think about the environment we’re creating for ourselves and the people we welcome into our homes.
I perform restorations remotely by default, with in-person services available upon request and subject to scheduling.
Following the restoration, clients receive a personalized Report of Findings within two business days.

3. Día de los Muertos: Celebrating Those We Love
While Halloween is full of costumes, haunted houses, and spooky traditions, this time of year also brings Día de los Muertos.
Día de los Muertos, celebrated primarily on November 1 and 2, is a Mexican tradition honoring and remembering loved ones who have died.
Families may create remembrance altars, with photographs, candles, flowers, favorite foods, and other meaningful offerings.
It’s a beautiful tradition centered on memory, love, and connection.
And while I approach it through my own personal spiritual perspective, I appreciate the invitation to celebrate the lives of those who are no longer physically here.
For me, that includes remembering the people I’ve loved and the animals who have been part of my family.
I don’t believe remembering someone needs to be limited to sadness.
We can miss them and celebrate them.
We can acknowledge their absence while appreciating everything their presence brought into our lives.
We can laugh at the memories, look through photographs, tell stories, and make room for the love that continues.
One of the flower essences I’ve continued reaching for is LotusWei’s Sacred Heart.
Sacred Heart has been part of my personal practices as I’ve navigated the loss of Aurora. For me, it’s a way to make space for the love, grief, and emotions that come with missing someone so deeply.
And while Día de los Muertos is a beautiful opportunity to honor those who are no longer physically here, celebrating and remembering my loved ones isn’t something I reserve for one day of the year.
Especially when it comes to my sweet Aurora. 💛
4. Celebrating My Aurora
If you’ve followed my journey, you know my girls are my children and Aurora will always be my first soul dog.
October 27 has also become a special day for honoring beloved pets who have passed in some contemporary Día de los Muertos celebrations. According to this tradition, it’s believed that their souls return home to visit the people who love them.
This year, that day held an especially personal meaning for me as I continued celebrating my sweet girl. While I talk to Aurora and honor her throughout the year, I loved the idea of dedicating a day to the animals who have left such an extraordinary imprint on our hearts.
Because Aurora was never just a dog. She was my family, my child, and one of the greatest loves of my life.
She came into my life the day before my 30th birthday and became one of the deepest loves I’ve ever experienced.
She was there through so many chapters of my life.
The changes. The adventures. The difficult seasons. The beautiful ones.
She saw every version of me.
And she loved me through all of them.
Since she left her physical body, I’ve continued finding ways to celebrate her and the incredible love we shared.
I still talk to her. I pray to her at night. And there are moments when I feel her presence in ways that are deeply meaningful to me.
Sometimes it’s when I’m getting ready for bed.
Sometimes it’s a memory that comes out of nowhere.
And sometimes Luna will look toward an empty part of the room with that familiar expression that makes me wonder whether she’s noticing something I can’t see.
Those moments are precious to me and part of how I experience my continuing connection with Aurora.
I recently shared more about our story in my blog, Aurora’s Gotcha Day: Love Doesn’t End When the Body Does.
Día de los Muertos feels like another opportunity to celebrate her life rather than focus only on her absence.
To remember her personality, her presence, and all the ordinary moments that became extraordinary simply because she was part of them.
To honor the love that continues.
And to appreciate the beautiful relationship I still have with Luna Skye, who keeps me laughing, moving, and exploring the world.
There’s room for both.
For missing Aurora.
For celebrating Aurora.
And for continuing to create new memories with Luna.
Because our animals are never “just dogs.”
They’re family.
And that love doesn’t disappear when their physical lives end.
5. What Are You Choosing to Carry Into This Season?
As we move through Halloween and toward the holidays, I think this is a beautiful opportunity to check in with ourselves.
Not everything needs to come with us into the next season.
Not every emotional burden needs to remain ours.
Not every relationship needs access to our time and attention.
And not every space in our lives needs to stay exactly as it has been.
Maybe this weekend is an opportunity to ask yourself:
Where am I giving away more of my energy than I want to?
What emotions or experiences am I ready to process and release?
What boundaries would help me feel more grounded?
How do I want my home to feel as we move into the holiday season?
Who do I want to take a moment to remember and celebrate?
What would it look like to bring more intention into my everyday life?
You don’t need to believe in ghosts or practice energetic healing to benefit from reflecting on these questions.
Sometimes the most meaningful thing we can do is become more intentional about where our attention goes, how we care for ourselves, and the environments we create.
As for me?
I’ll be clearing my field, restoring my home, celebrating my loved ones, honoring Aurora, and probably spending plenty of time adventuring with Luna.
And I’ll continue reminding people that yes, I’m a chiropractor.
Yes, I work with energy.
Yes, I believe there’s more to life than what we can physically see.
And no, my dog is not “just a dog.”
Keep your field clear and your energy yours! ❤️🔥
Spine-tingling wishes for light and aligned energy this Halloween weekend! 🎃✨
XOXO,
Dr. Elizabeth + Luna
